Our Diatomaceous Earth powder is widely used as mould release in centrifugal casting and automobile parts manufacturing. The material is mixed with bentonite powder and slurry with water is made. Slurry is agitated for 7 – 8 hours before application. Not this slurry is sprayed on moulds and then hot alloy is injected in the mould, as soon as alloy takes shape it is pulled out of mould. Diatomite help in easy release of casted alloy from mould and also does not allow to pass temperate to mould and this keep mould safe for longer use. The casted product has very good finishing and hence it requires less machining. Both natural and calcined product is used in this application.
